Campaign for a better broadband service
As many of you will have seen on the television, British Telecom are rolling out a new fibre distributed, high speed broadband service branded as BT Infinity.
The good news is that Trowbridge should go live with the new service on December 31st 2010, so not long to wait. However to ensure that the Paxcroft Mead area is prioritised, residents can vote for their area. The Forum has registered as a campaigner for the new service and we are encouraging people on and around Paxcroft Mead to vote to ensure we have the best chance of receiving this service in the first phase of the rollout. You can vote at http://www.racetoinfinity.bt.com.
It has been pointed out by one of our members that for this service to work, the fibre cables have to be run from the exchange to the local distribution cabinets. This may take longer, so it makes it even more important to vote to ensure Paxcroft Mead's profile is raised.
Please pass this information on to friends and neighbours to build up the pressure on BT.
