There have, to date, been five detailed planning applications in respect of the planned development on Land South of Green Lane of 650 new dwellings. These applications - for about 150 dwellings - complete the portion of the new development which will be directly beside Green Lane. The planned development will also include the extension of Leap Gate to meet West Ashton Road, which already has full planning permission.
The Forum has sent in responses to each application, reminding the planning officers of the Conditions of the Outline Planning Consent in respect of the whole development.

Paxcroft Mead Community Centre was buzzing with information and earnest discussion last Saturday 9th April at the Community Forum Coffee Morning. The first signs of the proposed Persimmon development of 650 homes on Land South of Green Lane have appeared. This large development, which will partly mirror the existing Paxcroft Mead on the other side of Green Lane, includes the extension of Leap Gate to West Ashton Road. As yet, this development only has outline planning permission, although full planning permission for the road has already been granted.
An application has been made for the erection of 12 new dwellings on Land Adjacent to the Scrap Yard in Green Lane (Application Reference number: W/11/00401/REM). This is an Application for Approval of Reserved Matters, which is the next step on the way to full planning permission, and deals with the outstanding details of the outline application proposal relating to these 12 dwellings. These 12 houses, to be built beside the electrical station, constitute a small portion of the large development. They are designated on the plans as "Affordable Housing".

Many thanks to everyone who responded to the on-line consultation about the BMX Track.
Of all the replies received, only 28% had serious reservations, while 72% were in support of the project, which is very encouraging.
The main purpose of the consultation was to give residents a chance to raise their concerns about the proposal, so that we could incorporate these issues into our planning. What follows is a brief review of the resulting exchange of ideas.

In March, there will be a Public Inquiry to decide the fate of the "land adjacent to Hackett Place", which is currently designated as a site for a potential medical centre.
The developers who own the site have applied twice to the local council to have the designation lifted so that they can build a pub on the site, and have been twice denied. They have now appealed and the matter will go before a Public Inspector, who will hear all the evidence and make a final judgement.
