Forum AGM - Tuesday 24th May 2011

Thank you very much indeed to the select band of members, residents, local councillor, community officer and police officers who joined us for the second Annual General Meeting of the Forum last Tuesday evening. We can't pretend we weren't disappointed by the small numbers, but we got the business done, nevertheless.

Jonathan Hawkes delivered his annual Chairman's Report and Treasurer Chris Hicks explained the Forum accounts, which are very modest. The Chairman's Report is available to download.

There had been three resignations from the committee over the previous year, but Jonathan, Rosemary, Chris, Adrian Ingham and Phil Stevens were happy to stand for re-election, with co-opted committee member Gordon Rees also standing. The election was conducted by Councillor Steve Oldrieve and the committee was unanimously re-elected en bloc. Jonathan said that there were up to three vacancies for new recruits.

Next on the agenda was a presentation of the proposal for a small scale skate park, to be known as Paxcroft Mead Action Park, delivered by Rosemary with the help of Dan Tate (12), one of the local kids who came to the latest coffee morning to find out about the plans. The text of this presentation can be found on the Action Park web page.

Overall, the meeting was friendly but subdued because of the small attendance.
